Alright well our plans of posting lots of pictures (and we do have lots of them to post) kind of fell through but i thought i would fill you all in on our time here in Glacier. Simply put, it is awesome. To sit on a warm beach beside a glacier lake and look up at the mountains above you.... well words can't really explain it. (at least not my words)
Wednesday we pulled into St. Mary's campground in Eastern Glacier and were warned about bears in the area. We even got a park ranger to look over our camper and freezer to make sure it wouldn't be a problem with the bears. Unfortunately the "bear police" decided otherwise and at 10:00 pm made us unload our entire freezer and carry all our frozen food into the camper with us..... To say that we were unimpressed would be quite an understatement. We didn't even see a bear at that part of the park.
Thursday morning we drove back into "Many Glaciers" and that was by far the most impressive part of our trip thus far. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and the scenery was just spectacular. Hopefully some of our upcoming pictures will give you an idea of what we saw. One of the most amazing parts of that trip was being able to look WAY up those magnificent mountains and actually being able to watch bighorn sheep, mt. goats, and grizzly's as they fed so high up above.
We also hiked back into another lake that was even more impressive and spent several hours along the shore just relaxing and trying to take it all in.
Alright well we're off now hopefully to see what we can of West Glacier. Unfortunately we can't do all of Going to The Sun Road as our motor home exceeds all the size restrictions of the road but we should still be in for some amazing sights!
Amazing! Try really, really hard though, to take a ride up to Logan Pass from West Glacier. The only way up is Going to the Sun Rd, but if you can find a way up (take one of the jammer buses :D), you will not regret it!!
ReplyDeleteOh mannn...I am so jealous! Sounds like you have seen a LOT of wildlife there! Did you relax on the shores of Swiftcurrent Lake, by any chance?
Can't wait for pictures!!

:D yeah.. We drove right past Swiftcurrent lake... But we actually relaxed on the shores of Josephine lake. :)
DeleteOk! I'm sure Josephine was lovely too!
